Diagnosis of ´Nuclear Feelings´ in Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy

Abstract
|
|
|
Due to the practical characteristics of short-term psychotherapy agile and accurate understanding and perception of the patient´s psychodynamics or ´nuclear feelings´ is more essential in short-term dynamic psychotherapy than long-term psychotherapy.
Dr. Rhee originally coined the term, the nuclear feelings´ and has emphasized that perception of ´nuclear feeling´ is crucially important in psychotherapy.
The Author reviewed the significance of his own processes of understanding ´the nuclear feelings´, the significance of the term, ´the nuclear feeling´, in the historical developmental processes of western psychotherapy and lastly, discussed the diagnosis of ´the nuclear feelings´ in short-term dynamic psychotherapy with a clinical case illustration.
